This loft conversion and extension to a three bedroom bungalow in Broadstone was awarded following a recommendation of Banyard Construction to the clients.
An outline budget figure was agreed with the clients for the works based upon the building regulation drawings.
As the clients wished to keep many decisions on construction issues and finishes fluid monthly meetings were held on site attended by the site manager and project surveyor which enabled Banyard Construction to offer both construction and costing advice throughout the process, this allowed the client flexibility on making the important decisions at the suitable times relative to the build programme.
The project involved a partial canopy scaffold to protect the existing accommodation of the bungalow, whilst some minor demolitions and alterations were made to the existing fabric to provide for the new extension to the rear, new garage walls and stairs to the newly converted roof structure for the first floor accommodation. The first floor now provides two additional bedrooms, two bathrooms and a walk in dressing area.
The project was handed over to the clients in March 2014.
